APGRD Notes
An all-male production, frequently revived until November 1999. Performances from 1987 are described as in association with, or produced by, Point Tokyo Co. Ltd.
Two recordings of the production are known to exist: the first filmed in May 1984 outdoors at Tokyo's Hanazono Shrine (the released film of this performance is bookended by filming on location in Corinth and Athens in July 1984, and includes the audience's reaction to the performance on 11 July at Odeon of Herodes Atticus, when the Greek minister for Culture Melina Mercouri was in the front row); the second recording was filmed indoors in the Shinjuku Bunka Centre on 31 October 1993.
