      APGRD Notes
A suite for solo violin played from Jean-Philippe Rameau's 1733 opera. His version gives a happy twist - Phaedra still dies but Hippolytus survives and marries his true love Aricia. The libretto is based on Racine's Phèdre. Part of 2003 BBC Proms, following the season theme of Ancient Greek myths; prom 33.
