Hallie Marshall is an Associate Professor of Theatre Studies in the Department of Theatre and Film at the University of British Columbia. In collaboration with Barefaced Greek, she has made two short films of choral odes from ancient Greek tragedies — the Ode to Man chorus from Sophocles’ Antigone and the Dawn chorus from Euripides’ Phaethon.
Hallie is co-editor of two volumes on ancient theatre and its reception: with C. W. Marshall, Greek Drama V: Studies in the Theatre of the Fifth and Fourth Centuries BCE (Bloomsbury: 2020), and with Alena Sarkissian and Eliška Kubartova, Re-embodying and Rethinking Greek and Roman Drama in Modern Times (Brill, forthcoming). She has published numerous articles and chapters on topics ranging from the performance context of fifth-century Athenian drama to contemporary receptions of classical plays.
