                      Serenata or cantata a tre (azione pastorale per musica)	Librettist - unknown.  First performed for June wedding of Duke of Alvito and Beatrice, daughter of Prince of Monte Mileto.  Revised as serenata masque, Acis and Galatea.  Libretto - John Gay, after Theocritus and Ovid, with Alexander Pope (chorus) and John Hughes (1 aria).  First performed probably Summer 1718, Cannons (seat of Duke of Chandos), Edgeware, near London.  Unauthorized version, pirated by the Arnes.  Gay/Pope libretto, with additions by Dr. John Arbuthnot.  First performed 1732/06/10, King's Theatre, Haymarket, London.
