Dramatis personae: Aricie - soprano; Hippolyte - haute-contre; Phèdre - soprano; Thésée - bass; Oenone - soprano; Arcas - haute-contre; Diane - soprano; L’Amour - soprano; Jupiter - baritone; Tisiphone - haute-contre; Pluton - bass; Mercure - tenor; Neptune - bass; The High Priestess of Diana - soprano; Three Fates - haute-contre, tenor, bass; A Follower of Cupid haute-contre; A Priestess - soprano; A Sailor Girl - soprano; A Huntress - soprano; A Shepherdess - soprano. Diana’s nymphs, forest dwellers, Diana’s priestesses, underworld gods, Troezenians, sailors, hunters and huntresses, shepherds and shepherdesses.
