Production notes:
First US Company to visit Greece. Sponsored by the U.S. State Department. This recitation was performed to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the production of Prometheus at the 1st Delphic Festival in 1927. Bourlos read his part in modern Greek; the Americans Derwin, Philips and Yurka read their parts in English translation. Behind the actors was a group of Oceanids (wearing the masks and costumes from the 1927 production) who offered an interpretation of the play in dumb show. The American translator Edith Hamilton was guest of honour and received the title of Honorary Citizen of Athens.
