Production notes: 
The broadcast on the BBC Home Service - part of the World Theatre series - was preceded by an introduction by Gilbert Murray. Immediately following the performance, J. T. Sheppard introduced scenes from the play given in ancient Greek by Cambridge University students (who were to give The Frogs as the Cambridge Greek Play later in the month: see ID 848). The production was repeated on the Third Programme on 27 April 1947.
