Naevius' first fabula praetexta, Clastidium, was produced c. 222 BC and, if we can believe Jerome, Naevius died in 201 BC. Therefore the date range for the performance of the Romulus is here given as 222 BC - 201 BC. It is assumed that this play would have been performed in Rome.
