We do not know when the Aleadai (Sons of Aleus) was first produced. The date range given here is based on Sophocles' first competition (Mar. Par) and his last (Life of Euripides 2). It is assumed here that the play would have been performed in Athens. This play may have been produced as part of a tetralogy with Mysians, Telephus and Eurypylus, see IG II² 3091.
