It is not known when this tragedy was produced. We know that Dicaeogenes probably produced a tragedy in the rural Dionysia at the beginning of the 4th-century BC; so the date range given here is based on a 30-year period from the beginning of the 4th century. It is based on guesswork. In any case the play must have been performed before Aristotle wrote his Poetics (16 = 1454b 37), since it is mentioned there. No fragments from the play survive.
